Its slender curve and the cutting edge of its blade reminded him of a female he once knew well. One of the many who had allowed his sinister lineage to be assured. One among many others who was unable to resist his reptilian charms. But also – and above all – the only one who left him with a lasting memory…
"The White City shall not resist your ravishing beauty either… You can be sure of that, my lovely."
While stroking the sharp edge of his blade with the end of his claw, Crocobur didn't look away from the King of Bonta. He was defying him. Outstaring him. Not batting an eye. The young Crocodyl had inherited impetuosity and ambition from his progenitor. He wasn't one to be intimidated. Even less so after the recent conquests he had just added to his name.
"What are you doing here on my lands, you young, insolent upstart?"
The king watched over his city like a dragon watches over his Dofus. He had heard about this threat at length – the threat of a young belligerent Crocodyl prowling the continent with his bloody weapon. The dreaded day had thus arrived…
With his Crocobur held firmly in both hands, the son of Crocabulia and the Black Dragon, Grougalorasalar, felt invincible. The sword his own father had given him held great magical powers. He never let it out of his sight, whether he intended to use it or not. It was a bit like his Raul Mops tooth.
"What? So the rumor hasn't yet reached the ears of that deaf old fool of a fossil? I'm here to take possession of your city!"
"Ha ha ha ha ha! I'd love to see that! And just how do you think you're going to do that? The Bontarian army cares not about your threats…"
The king tried to put up the pretense, without really believing in it, truth be told… With Amakna having already fallen at the hands of the young Crocodyl and his army, there was little chance the White City was in a good position at that precise moment.
"Run back under your flighty, fickle mother's skirt, you arrogant little swine!"
The king had just touched on Crocoburio's one and only weak spot: his mother. There were many rumors going around about her – that she was a promiscuous dragon – gossip that tarnished her reputation to the point of fueling the anger of Osamodas himself.
"You're going to taste my Crocobur, you old fool!"
Crocoburio raised his sword high into the sky, then pointed it toward his enemy. The signal was given. The Crocodyls rushed forward in their thousands, claws out, with croaky, powerful roars. The Bontarian army hadn't quivered like this since the Crimson Dawn…
Chunks of flesh rained from everywhere to the sound of screams branded with unequivocal pain. With a bereft look of utter amazement, the king watched helplessly as his precious army was destroyed…
In one final surge of solidarity, he rushed over to help the few who escaped, closely followed by Crocoburio, still proudly wielding his sword. Out of the corner of his eye, carried along by the flood of Bontarian fighters, the Crocodyl saw a huge white mass emerge from nowhere…
Croulaklakoss.
The White Dragon rose up with all his anger against the Black Dragon, Grougalorasalar, who had held back to witness the certain victory of his cherished offspring…
"The little Crocodyl came along with his DADDY, from what I can tell… That's perfect, because I'm not the kind to confront someone smaller than myself…"
The two creatures launched themselves into a fierce battle. Their thunderous growls made the ground shake. Under their feet, the earth cracked, forming thick, deep trenches. Then suddenly, an anguished cry could be heard from among the tide of Twelvians, making Grougalorasalar shudder…
"Crocoburio! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"
